Postdoc fellowships

Karel Urbanek and Marvin Chodorow Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Stanford Department of Applied Physics invites applications each year for the Karel Urbanek and the Marvin Chodorow Postdoctoral Fellowships. This annual program is aimed at recruiting young scientists of exceptional ability with the potential to do outstanding research in our department. The appointment includes 2 years of support with a competitive salary and benefits, and the competition is open to both theorists and experimentalists.

The fellowship is currently open. Applications and supporting credentials must be submitted through this form.

The deadline for applications for the current round is Friday, Oct 30 at 12PM PST. Offers are generally made to successful candidates in mid-December, and appointments are expected to begin during the period June – December of the following calendar year.

Bloch Fellowship in Quantum Science and Engineering 

In the Fall of each year, the Stanford-SLAC Quantum Initiative, Q-FARM, invites applications for the Bloch Fellowships in Quantum Science and Engineering. Named after the pioneering Stanford scientist Felix Bloch in honor of his wide-ranging quantum mechanical discoveries and inventions, these fellowships are intended for the next generation of researchers blazing a similarly innovative trail. TA positions

Several TA positions will be available in the Department in the 2026-27 Academic Year. Classes that will be hiring a TA will be listed here by late August. Email applied_physics_student_services@lists.stanford.edu to request a TA application form. This form is generally available one month before the start of the quarter in which the class is listed (AUT form available in August, WIN in December, and SPR in March).
